Education

If you’re new to medical marijuana, you likely have a lot of questions. Patient education starts with understanding that medical marijuana works differently than traditional prescription drugs.

Most of our patients come to us to reduce or eliminate their reliance on traditional prescriptions, or because their doctors reduced their dosages to prevent other side effects and health risks.

Others come because their medications simply aren’t effective any more, or because they prefer simple, clean, natural solutions for traditional ailments.

Whatever your personal reason for considering medical marijuana, we think you’ll find it a refreshing alternative!

Medical marijuana: a natural alternative

Rather than just treating symptoms, medical marijuana seeks to address the underlying causes of symptoms – and, because it’s plant-derived, any side effects are naturally processed within the body.

Here’s how it works: medical marijuana seeks to balance the body’s own natural endocannabinoid system – a system we’re all born with, but which can be damaged over time by disease, injury, and ordinary aging.

When any part of this natural system gets disrupted, other parts work harder to compensate. Over time, that causes disruption throughout the entire body, and results in ailments such as advanced disease, chronic pain, inflammation, fatigue, and other life-limiting conditions.

Medical marijuana seeks to bring the endocannabinoid system back into its naturally-balanced state, helping the body from the inside out.

Patient freedom

The other refreshing difference with medical marijuana is that patients are the ones who are in charge of what they take, how much and how often:

  • patients who prefer not to smoke have plenty of safe and effective alternatives (called “modalities”)
  • patients whose conditions require some level of THC (the psychotropic compound in marijuana) will find a variety of strengths and options
  • patients who don’t want to feel any “high” or intoxicating effect have a variety of options that deliver marijuana’s other beneficial compounds (called “terpenes”) with no noticeable level of THC

The point is, you’re the one who is in charge of what you need and how you want to feel. Our Patient Advisor’s job is to present you with product options that can help you meet your personal challenges and goals. The choices are entirely yours.

When any part of this natural system gets disrupted, other parts work harder to compensate. Over time, that causes disruption throughout the entire body, and results in ailments such as advanced disease, chronic pain, inflammation, fatigue, and other life-limiting conditions.
